Who I am

My name is Susan Frekko and I operate as a freelance writing and research specialist, editor, translator and trainer in Spain. You may contact me in my capacity as data controller through my contact form.

Why I process your personal data

I collect, store and use your personal data only to issue a quote, provide a service that you request or comply with legal requirements. Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and ID or tax number. I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes. The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (“performance of a contract”). This basis also applies if you provide me with a service.

Who else receives your personal data

If do not outsource work. For administrative purposes, other parties that may have access to your personal data include my accountant and the providers of my website and email hosting services. All these parties are GDPR-compliant.

How long I keep your personal data

In the case of quotes or simple requests for information, I delete all personal data after 6 months. In the case of services rendered, I keep personal data for 5 years to comply with Spanish and US tax obligations. In the case of services rendered, I keep personal data for 5 years for administrative purposes. I delete email communications after 5 years.

Your data access rights

You may contact me at any time to ask me for a copy of your personal data or to ask me to modify or delete these data. I will take prompt action and inform you of the steps taken within a reasonable period (30 days at most). I may not be able to erase certain data required by the tax authorities.

Your right to lodge a complaint

Should you have any concerns about how I process your personal data, please contact me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in Spain or in the country where you live.
